Newborn FAQ'S
What is the best age for newborn photos?
We recommend our newborn sessions to take place between 5-14 days where possible to ensure all those beautiful sleepy, curly, cuddly newborn shots.
When is best to book in for a newborn shoot?
We generally 'pencil in' newborn shoots when you are in your second trimester to ensure your spot is reserved as we can only take limited bookings each month. Babies come in their own time so once you are booked in we ask you to contact us as soon as you are able after the birth and we can confirm the exact date for your session.
What do I need to bring?
We recommend arriving wearing the outfits you would like for the family photos as we usually start with those and bringing any special toys or blankets etc that you may have and wish to have incorporated into the photos. We supply a full range of outfits, wraps and props for each session but always welcome adding special touches just for your little one
Do I need to do anything before the session?
Yes, particularly for newborn sessions the preparation you do before the session can help tremendously. We always send out a preparation guide to help you and questionnaire to help determine the best plan for your family to get the most out of each session
How long does the session take?
Each session, like each baby is different. We always leave 3-4 hours for newborn sessions to allow time for feeding, changing, settling etc. Most sessions do not take anywhere near that long but we always ensure it is available so there is never any time pressures and you can just relax and enjoy the experience and time with your little on
What happens if my baby is very unsettled?
We understand all newborns have times when nothing seems to work. We have lots of tricks and tips to help the session run smoothly and always leave plenty of time for settling however if nothing works on the day and we do not get what we need we always offer a reshoot free of charge to guarantee images you will love
